Between: Layering Context and Perception in Patchwork

Oct 20th - 22nd, 2016

Quilts as painting. Quilts as sustenance. Quilts as documents of socio-economic history. The works selected for this exhibition exist on the fringes of expectation for patchwork. Each artist layers meaning into the work with actions unique to their processes: collecting, dissecting, painting, sanding, stitching, drawing, researching, dyeing, building, placing, concealing, and revealing. Artists featured: Sonja Dahl, Jess Jones, and Rachel Meginnes

Exhibition hosted in partnership with the Textile Society of America's 2016 annual symposium in Savannah, GA with gallery space provided by the Jelinek Creative Spaces. For more information about the exhibition click here
